How we began…
Headingley Preschool began its life as a playgroup, established, by a group of women (mothers) in 1981. Then named St Michaels’ Preschool, the Preschool was housed in the church hall of St Michael’s and All Angels Church in central Headingley.
In 2005 in order to meet the demand for quality preschool education in the Headingley/Meanwood areas the preschool moved to bigger premises in the grounds of Shire Oak Primary School. It was then that we changed our name to Headingley Preschool.
10 years on from this we are operating from 2 sites and offering full daycare to children aged from 24 months to school age. We continue to grow and remain committed to providing affordable childcare in a caring, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
