SEND at Meanwood Valley Preschool
We are very proud of our excellent SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) provision at Meanwood Valley Preschool.
Our SENCO is Sharon Hargreaves
The SENCO works closely with Parents and Carers, the site Managers , a range of professionals and other colleagues. She has the responsibility for supporting and co-ordinating the provision for children with SEND.
Equal Access to our setting
Burton Crescent has ramped access so wheelchair users can easily access the building. Inside the preschool all our provision is on one level. We also have additional rooms to support privacy and one to one support for children who need any medical or personal interventions.
Our staff team are trained in:-
- Epipen / allergy management
- Diabetes – insulin delivery (pump /syringe) , blood glucose testing and emergency care
- Peg feeding
- Speech and Language
We have strong links with ‘Sunshine and Smiles’ (Leeds Downsydrome Support Network) and ‘Digibetes’ (Type 1 Diabetes support and training platform). We love the work they do and always endeavour to support other charities and social enterprises wherever we can.
Please see our community page where you can click on the links to find out more about the work they do!
